The four-story building features a simple, durable palette of materials—brick and glass block—that reflects and complements the surrounding neighborhood. Initially envisioned as a 10,000-square-foot facility with a rooftop healing garden, the project evolved as Enlace sought to respond to emerging programs and community needs. To achieve these goals within budget limitations, the team implemented a two-phase design strategy. Phase one delivered a 6,000-square-foot, two-story structure. Phase two added 4,000 square feet, expanding the building to four stories and incorporating a green rooftop once additional funding was secured. Developed collaboratively with the project team, this phased approach allowed the design to remain flexible across two distinct budget scenarios. The total project cost was $4 million.
